Functions
First established in 2019, all legal affairs of the Council are overseen by the Legal Counsel whose core objective is to provide comprehensive and integrated in-house legal services to the Council.
Services Provided
- Legal opinions and advice to the Board and Registrar and CEO
- Overseeing smooth operations of the Board and providing secretarial services to the Board and its Committees on behalf of the Registrar
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and all legal departments
- Managing litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
- Facilitating law reform and review and drafting legislation
- Performing legal administrative services
- Providing legal advice and strategic input to management and user departments
- Overseeing investigation reports
- Conducting legal research on international and domestic matters
- Overseeing the Council’s public relations on behalf of the Board and the Registrar
