Functions

First established in 2019, all legal affairs of the Council are overseen by the Legal Counsel whose core objective is to provide comprehensive and integrated in-house legal services to the Council.

Services Provided

• Legal opinions and advice to the Board and Registrar and CEO
• Overseeing smooth operations of the Board and providing secretarial services to the Board and its Committees on behalf of the Registrar
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts and all legal departments
• Managing litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings
• Facilitating law reform and review and drafting legislation
• Performing legal administrative services
• Providing legal advice and strategic input to management and user departments
• Overseeing investigation reports
• Conducting legal research on international and domestic matters
• Overseeing the Council’s public relations on behalf of the Board and the Registrar
