Welcome to the first edition of our Nurses & Midwives Newsletter. Our Newsletter is binnual publication that focuses on the operations of the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Zambia, bringing to light its activities and the role it plays in ensuring that competent Nurses and Midwives are trained and allowed to practice in Zambia.

NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

The following registered nurses should report to the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) office situated on plot 171 Luanshya road, Villa Elizabetha in Lusaka on or before 30th April 2024;

Licensure Examinations for Temporarily Registered Practitioners

Notice is hereby given that ALL individuals possessing a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and/or Midwifery (Pre-service) qualification are required to sit for and pass the Licensure examination before being registered and deemed competent to practice by Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ).

Release of the May-June 2023 Competence and Licensure Examinations Results

Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) would like to inform all candidates who attempted the May-June, 2023 Competence and Licensure Examinations that the results are hereby released.
This is following approval by the Minister of Health, Honourable Sylvia T. Masebo, MP in line with Regulation No. 13 of the Nurses and Midwives (Conduct of Examinations) Rules, Statutory Instrument No. 92 of 2002.

Annual Publication of Registers for the year 2023

In accordance with Section 79(1) and Section 80(1) of the Nurses and Midwives Act, 2019, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (NMCZ) is mandated to keep and publish registers relating to practitioners, indexed students, higher education institutions whose nursing and midwifery programmes are approved and licensed nursing and midwifery facilities.

Release of November December 2022 Competence and Licensure Results

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Zambia (the Council), wishes to inform all candidates who attempted the November-December, 2022 Competence and Licensure Examination that the results are hereby released. This is following approval by the Minister of Health, Honourable Sylvia T. Masebo, MP in line with Regulation No. 13 of the Nurses and Midwives (Conduct of Examination) Rules, Statutory Instrument No. 92 of 2002. Candidates are therefore advised as follows:

Renewal of Practising Certificate for the Year 2023

TAKE NOTICE that in line with Section 24 (1) of the Nurses and Midwives Act No. 10 of 2019 (the “Act”), all Practitioners are required to renew their Practising Certificate for the year 2023 not later than 31st December, 2022. Applications received after the deadline will attract a penalty fee of K500.00 in addition to the subscription fee due. Practitioners must therefore adhere to the following:
